Twelve-hour demanding shifts (including at night), lack of natural daylight, and the negative impact on employees’ work. That was the reality for the Czech Prison Service until they installed pro-cognitive Spectrasol lighting in their monitoring center. Employees have grown fond of it and praise it.
The Prison Service decided to implement pro-cognitive lighting primarily due to the continuous service regime and the potential improvement in working conditions and health benefits. This soon became a reality.
The differences compared to the regular artificial lighting previously used at the workplace are definitely noticeable â less fatigue, better long-term concentration, and higher subjective satisfaction.
âWe especially see the benefits during night shifts, when it is possible to regulate the lighting intensity and eliminate glare and the unwanted effects of direct light on the workspace,â describes Senior Advisor Colonel JiÅÃ Princ, Director of the Prison and Judicial Guard Department.
He also adds that colleagues mention a reduction in fatigue and better focus, for example, while processing documents after the lights were installed. Positive effects are also noticeable in visual quality, with workers seeing more sharply and noticing that their eyes tire more slowly.
âI recommend Spectrasol pro-cognitive lighting in the security and defense sector and everywhere where personnel work at night,â further comments Colonel Princ.
The only drawback mentioned was the higher initial cost. We can now offer cheaper lighting options from our portfolio â Spectrasol Sunline 45 and Spectrasol WORK INO.
