Description of the problem or challenge:

Autentiq provides premium styling of vehicles, especially high-end to top-of-the-range cars. Original visual and protective solutions in sophisticated graphic design with attention to detail require absolutely flawless workmanship, without the slightest imperfections. Working with thin films of often non-standard dimensions is extremely demanding and requires perfect and even lighting of the application hall, which only has small windows.

The originally installed LED lighting was outdated, with an inappropriate spectral power distribution and light colouration (correlated colour temperature, CCT). Due to the low CRI (colour rendering index), the colour fidelity and hue were poorly rendered. Workers also complained of eye strain and visual problems when presenting the results of their work.

So the aim was to create lighting…

• …with stable quality and uniform coverage of the entire application hall;
• …that does not distort the colours or shades of the materials used;
• …and produces no shadows or ghosting, ensuring the truest possible presentation of the finished result;
• …is as gentle as possible on the eyes of the workers;
• …that contributes to increased concentration and alertness, thereby reducing fatigue and error rates of workers and, above all;
• …contributes greatly to their health and vitality.

Description of the solution, technology used:

Following consultation in the workshop area, we proposed the installation of full-spectrum procognitive indirect-beam linear lighting with a suitable correlated colour temperature and high colour rendering index. Due to the fact that the owner of the company already uses and has so far been satisfied with Spectrasol biodynamic lighting in his home, he agreed to the proposal and offer.

In the first phase, Sunline 45 linear luminaires were installed in the 240 m2 workshop, which bounces the light off the white ceiling and eliminates glare and light reflections on the images of the finished cars. In addition to contributing to better concentration, mood and health, full-spectrum procognitive lighting also offers an excellent view of details and a very pleasant subjective perception of the light emitted.

Key results:

The first phase of the installation (main shop + office space) was completed in May 2024. All the employees, including the owner of the company, were extremely satisfied, so the second phase – installation in the rest of the premises – took place in July. According to the users’ experience and feedback, all the aims we defined together with the client have been attained and there is no need to change anything about the solution.

Next steps:

Considering the experience we have gathered using similar installations, we can say the client will not need any technical support for more than the 5 years we provide the guarantee for. In any case, we are at his disposal for the entire lifetime of the application. In the coming years we will monitor the impact of our procognitive lighting on the work and health of the client’s employees.
