Client: Základní škola a Mateřská škola ZRAK
Field of activity: education, schools
Description of the problem or challenge
The school had long been addressing the need for high-quality lighting conditions for pupils with various types of visual impairments. The school’s goal was to find lighting that would support healthy vision, reduce visual strain, and create a stable environment for learning.
Expected goal
- Improve visual conditions in classrooms
- Support better color and contrast perception
- Reduce eye fatigue and increase students’ attention
- Provide lighting that is natural, even, and suitable for children with visual impairments
- Enable flexible light control according to individual needs
Solution
In 2021, a pilot set of procognitive lighting was installed in two classrooms. Based on the results, the school decided to expand the lighting into additional classrooms, primarily using IBPA and PRO-SCHOOL 600×600 DALI fixtures. During 2025, the school expanded the installation with 70 fixtures in May and another 20 fixtures in July — all of the IBP and PRO-SCHOOL 600×600 types.
Result
Thanks to the new procognitive lighting, the school environment has changed significantly:
- Children perceive colors and details more clearly
- Eye fatigue occurs much less frequently
- Students can concentrate longer and work more calmly
- The overall classroom environment is visually more stable and pleasant
Client testimonial
“Under the procognitive light, children see colors amazingly well, contrast improves, and the even distribution of light makes processing visual information easier. The new lighting reduces visual fatigue, supports concentration, and extends the working performance of children. I highly recommend it — supporting children with this handicap is essential,” explains the school principal, PhDr. Martina Malotová, MBA.
