FAQ/Glossary

How does Spectrasol solve the problem of digital eye strain when working with monitors?

Digital eye strain (Computer Vision Syndrome) arises from a combination of high-frequency blue light from monitors and static lighting. Spectrasol addresses this in its lighting by applying three principles:

  1. Balanced spectrum without blue peaks – while common LEDs have a peak around 450 nm, Spectrasol spreads blue energy smoothly from 430 to 500 nm, reducing contrast with monitors.

  2. Included red photobiomodulation energy (670 nm) – compensates for oxidative stress from blue light coming, among other sources, from digital devices.

  3. Dynamic color temperature – biodynamic luminaires automatically reduce CCT to about 3000 K, minimizing circadian disruption in the evening.

This combination is protected by European patent no. EP 3 452 789 B1 and meets the recommendations of the EN 12464-1 standard for office lighting.
