Did you know that breweries also have control rooms? In the brewhouse control room of the legendary brewery Plzeňský Prazdroj, a key part of the production of one of the world’s most famous beers is managed and monitored in continuous operation. Plzeňský Prazdroj is the birthplace of the original Pilsner lager, a beer that first saw the light of day in 1842 and has since inspired around 70% of today’s global beer production.
The brewhouse control room operates continuously and, because it is located underground, daylight never reaches it. That is precisely why there was a need to create lighting that would help operators maintain alertness and concentration, reduce fatigue, support health and well-being, and bring a more natural lighting atmosphere into the windowless technological space.
The selected Spectrasol procognitive LED lighting makes it possible to adjust the light intensity and divide the lighting into individual sections, allowing employees to customize the environment according to their individual needs and the current situation.
After the installation, both employees and management evaluated the change very positively. This is also confirmed by Ondřej Kellner, Service & Facility Manager:
“The new lighting met our expectations and employees evaluate the change very positively. We perceive greater lighting comfort and a more pleasant atmosphere in the spaces. We consider the biggest benefit to be the more natural character of the light, which supports concentration and is visually more comfortable. Employees report that the light is less straining and feels more natural. We see the new lighting as an investment with a positive impact on work performance and the overall satisfaction of employees.”
The modernization of lighting at Plzeňský Prazdroj is therefore not only a technical innovation, but also a thoughtful and meaningful step toward a healthier and more welcoming working environment.
