The MAFRA media group is one of the leading media companies on the Czech market, regularly reaching nearly 2.4 million print readers and approximately 7 million online visitors every month. Such an extensive reach places exceptional demands not only on the content itself, but also on its production and final quality – every detail must stand up to the scrutiny of millions of people. That is why the environment in which the content is created plays a crucial role.
An important part of that environment is the lighting, which has a significant impact on the concentration and day-to-day performance of the people behind the content. At the same time, it affects vision and the quality of visual functions during print quality control and inspection of fine print details. MAFRA decided to make a change, with a clear objective: to create a healthy lighting environment with perfect color rendering and print detail visibility in the printing press control room and the director’s office, capable of meeting the demands of both a high-performance printing facility and an office environment.
The printing press control room, where newspapers such as MF DNES, Lidové noviny, and Metro are produced, was equipped with 80 pro-cognitive full-spectrum Spectrasol INO M LED luminaires. The lighting is designed to support the human body and promote long-term concentration without unnecessary fatigue. In a printing environment, this means colors appear natural, print inspection is based on reliable visual perception, and even after hours of examining fine details, vision remains a dependable and accurate tool.
“The lighting meets everything we expected from it. We have observed clear benefits in terms of improved lighting quality, and even colleagues working night shifts speak very positively about it. From my own experience, I can confirm that, especially during the winter months when artificial lighting is used more extensively, my eyes feel much less tired. I would definitely recommend this lighting solution for all manufacturing facilities as well as office spaces.” – Petr Žumlov, Director of Printing Operations and Procurement, MAFRA
At MAFRA, this project resulted in more than just new lighting. It created an environment that actively supports the quality of work, accuracy of decision-making, and the overall well-being of employees in their daily tasks. Here, light has become a reliable partner people can depend on.
