The management of Felberova Primary School Svitavy, with the help of the founder, Mayor David Šimek, helped to implement the initial installation of cognitive lighting in the Pardubice region. The implementation took place in one of the second level classrooms and expansion is being considered for the future. In the Svitavy district, this is a novelty in the field of technology and we are pleased that our unique lighting imitating natural sunlight can help children and teachers to achieve a better quality of education and at the same time inspire other schools.
At Felberova Primary School, we presented new findings about light and its impact on the human organism. The school’s management and the founder were impressed by our presentation, and the replacement of lighting with our innovative lighting systems was widely supported. “We were all positively surprised by the presentation and learned a lot of new information about the impact of light on the organism and its benefits and potential when applied in schools. In the classroom where the lights are installed, they create a better environment for students and teachers, and among other things, help improve academic results, which is important to us,” comments Jana Pazderová, the principal of Felberova Primary School.
In the classroom, fluorescent lighting was replaced by Spectrasol lighting with cognitive effects. The intensity of the lighting tripled, and thanks to optimized coloring and balanced spectral composition, it creates the feeling of pleasant daylight. “When I was in the classroom, I felt very comfortable and at ease. The students and teachers praise the new lighting and I am glad that we can use a new and meaningful trend in interior lighting in our city’s facility,” says the founder and mayor of the city of Svitavy, David Šimek.
The application of biologically optimized lighting in schools is very important, as students and teachers spend a lot of time there. “Installed cognitive lights, which imitate natural sunlight, positively affect the organism’s biorhythms, support alertness, concentration, and attention in schools, and above all, the health, mood, and overall vitality of users. Compared to the original fluorescent lighting, which has the opposite effect” adds Tomáš Kembitzký, the representative of Spectrasol lighting distributor, DESIGNLED, which implemented the project for Felberova Primary School.
The school has long been involved in innovations and modern technologies. Students use Apple devices such as iPads or MacBook Air. As part of modernization, it plans to continue to develop and, thanks to satisfaction and the successful installation of Spectrasol lighting, it is considering further collaborations in the future. “I believe that in the near future, more classrooms that we are newly building will be equipped with this type of lighting,” comments the founder and mayor of the city of Svitavy, David Šimek.
