Description of the Problem or Challenge

The maternity ward was undergoing extensive reconstruction and wanted to offer its patients not only modern equipment but also an environment where they would feel comfortable and calm. Part of the modernization included finding a lighting solution that would help maintain a healthy biorhythm, improve sleep, recovery, and overall well-being for both mothers and newborns after birth.

Solution

As part of the extensive modernization, new family rooms were equipped with Spectrasol biodynamic lighting, which mimics the natural changes in daylight during the day, evening, and night.

In the morning and forenoon, it supports energy and alertness with full-spectrum light sources, helping mothers start their day.
In the evening, it gently shifts to warm tones that prepare the body for rest and night-time regeneration.
At night, it provides a soft orange night light that allows care for the baby without disrupting melatonin production or the quality of sleep for both mother and child.

Result

The new biodynamic lighting has transformed the maternity ward into a place where mothers and their children feel truly at ease. The light naturally changes throughout the day – energizing in the morning to help start the day, softening into warmer tones in the evening to promote calmness and falling asleep, and providing gentle orange light at night to allow night-time baby care without disrupting sleep or its quality. As a result, mothers recover better, newborns sleep more peacefully, and the overall environment feels pleasant and safe.
