As part of the necessary reconstruction, it was necessary to replace the lighting in the specialized classrooms of physics, biology, and in the laboratories of physics and biology, as well as in the large staff room. The building is a historical structure not subject to monument protection. The school management is interested in installing the highest quality lighting.

On recommendation, the school management was introduced to the concept and effects of pro-cognitive lighting. Thanks to support from the school’s founder (South Moravian Region), it was possible to choose the highest quality solution from the supplier Spectrasol.
For the intended purpose, full-spectrum daylight lighting in the form of surface-mounted ceiling fixtures appeared ideal. Spectrasol INO SCHOOL M 1300×200 lights were selected.
In the defined spaces, a total of 71 fixtures were installed.

According to the school principal Václav Klement, the change for the better is undeniable: “I can responsibly say that both students and teachers agree that they feel better in classrooms with the new type of lighting. And if they could influence the choice of lighting for other areas of the school, they would vote for pro-cognitive lighting.”
“I myself am a physics teacher and I know something about the role and function of light. I teach a physics seminar in a newly lit classroom, and teaching there is absolutely great. The difference is visible at first glance – I feel as if I were under the open sky. In addition, we can compare different types of lighting – LED, old fluorescent lamps, Spectrasol – in one corridor, and the difference is absolutely clear. The only limitation is the higher price, but we are very lucky that our founder realizes the importance of such an investment.”
Next steps:
The school is extremely satisfied and plans to use this type of lighting for the next phases of replacement. The installation at Gymnázium a SOŠZE Vyškov is a pilot project of the South Moravian Region. If evaluated positively, the region will consider installing it in other educational facilities under its management.
